  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 cup crushed cookies (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until well combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Sift together cocoa powder and flour; gently fold into the wet mixture without overmixing.
  4. Fold in chopped strawberries carefully to keep their shape.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  6. After cooling slightly, sprinkle crushed cookies on top and press gently. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
