  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 cup M&Ms (regular or mini)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in red food coloring until evenly combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in M&Ms gently.
  6. Scoop dough onto prepared sheets, spacing them two inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  7. Allow cookies to cool slightly before transferring them to wire racks.
