Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup raspberry jam
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit until bubbly (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add melted butter to the yeast mixture, then pour into the flour bowl. Mix until combined and knead on a floured surface for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about one hour or until doubled.
  4. Punch down the dough and roll it out to a rectangle (1/2 inch thick). Spread raspberry jam evenly across the surface.
  5. Roll the dough tightly from one edge to form a log and slice into equal pieces (about 1 inch thick). Place cut-side up in a greased baking pan.
  6. Cover again with a towel and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk.
