  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • 2 medium onions, quartered
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey from packaging, discard giblets, rinse under cool water, and pat dry.
  3. In a bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic and herbs until well combined.
  4. Loosen the skin of the turkey breast and rub half of the herb butter underneath. Coat the outside with remaining butter.
  5. Stuff the cavity with quartered onions and extra garlic cloves. Tie legs together with kitchen twine.
  6. Place turkey on a rack in a roasting pan breast-side up and pour chicken broth into the pan.
  7. Roast for about 13-15 minutes per pound or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), basting every hour.
  8. Let rest before carving and serve drizzled with pan juices.
