  • 20 large pasta shells
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 tsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Boil salted water in a large pot and cook pasta shells until al dente; drain and cool slightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Stuff each shell with the ricotta mixture using a spoon or piping bag.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish and arrange stuffed shells upright.
  5. Top with remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
