  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for brownie batter)

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Toss pitted cherries with 1 tablespoon sugar in a baking dish and roast for about 15 minutes until soft; let cool slightly.
  3. Melt together the butter and cocoa powder in a saucepan over low heat until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup sugar.
  4. Whisk in eggs one at a time until fully combined.
  5. In another bowl, sift together flour and salt, then gradually fold into the wet mixture until just combined.
