  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and cook chicken until golden brown (5-7 minutes per side).
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, combine minced garlic and marinara sauce; simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place cooked chicken in the baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece, then top with mozzarella and sprinkle parmesan on top.
  5. Bake for about 25 minutes until cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
