  • 1 can (16.3 oz) flaky refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sausage grease

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a greased baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned. Reserve some grease for the gravy.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the cooked sausage, stirring for about 2 minutes. Gradually add milk while whisking until thickened; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cut biscuits into quarters; layer half in the prepared baking dish and pour half of the gravy over them.
  5. Whisk together eggs and remaining milk; pour this mixture over the biscuit layer along with half of the cheese. Top with remaining biscuit pieces and gravy.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
